First of all, may I say, Barnes and Noble smells really good. I absolutely love the smell of new books. Crisp paper mixed with fresh brewed coffee aroma equals mmmm. Anyways, I got my picture. The staff there didn't kill me, because they didn't see. Hehe.
The store is divided up into many sections. The gifts, calendars, journals, etc are to the left when you first walk in. You'll find the magazines to the right. The music section is in the back right, and the DVD section is in the back left. Audiobooks can be found to the middle right. All books are in between those perimeters.
You can read, buy books, sample music and DVDs, sip Starbucks, or people watch at Barnes and Noble. Donkey Kong Jenga, Killer Bunnies, Life: Wizard of Oz edition, and Star Trek Monopoly are just a few games you can find there. The children's area is, well, childlike. It has a scene from Winnie the Pooh and a shelf dedicated to Dr. Seuss.
The Music and DVD section has two flatscreen TVs with featured titles. All around are headphones and stations where you can sample music or get info on DVDs. The cafe is quite nice. There are plenty of chairs and tables for everyone. The magazine section is highly organized. There are a few chairs to look at them if you wish.
The discount card program gives you 40% off hardcover bestseller, 20% off all adult hardcovers, and 10% on bargain books, music, DVD, cafe purchases and already discounted items. Seems like a good deal to me.
You see a wide range of people there. From nerdy, tree huggers to tough LSU dads whose wife dragged them there. Many are sitting in the cafe, chatting it up or reading some good literature. I like Barnes and Noble. Like I said, it smells good, but I don't go there on a regular basis because it's so far away.
Love it love it love it! Were you hiding in your picture so the B&N staff wouldn't catch you?! :)
